practicing loving kindness towards yourself is not gibberish, or pampering or woo woo. It just feels that way…like an adult bubble bath for the heart…

There are those who have already concluded (or have been taught to believe) that they don’t deserve to be treated with respect and kindness (perceived as weaknesses) or have never been treated in any fashion even resembling that…or, if they had, it was certainly not very often…

And, so, they wouldn’t be inclined much to take such a cleansing and soothing time with themselves…

Hurt people are hurtful.                 Scared people are scared and           scary.

We have all been both.

Hurt and scared.

We criticize, blame, scorn and ridicule ourselves for being or feeling either hurt or afraid…

We inwardly and outwardly shrug to one another, as if to say, “Yep, that’s life. You get hurt, scared and dead.”

It breaks my heart that someone, anyone, would summarize their human experiences, their overview of life, in this way. It’s not wrong.

Their hearts are breaking too.

Oops, I nearly forgot to mention…there are still those of us who believe that they’re so clean, all of the time, that they have no need for kindnesses…from themselves or from everyone else…spotlessly clean is not to claim perfection (that would be an ego spot on their squeaky glass covering) …they live in a ‘mint-in-box’ bubble wrap of superiority of their own making…
