How ironic

(could’ve been in a song)

In an age wherein so many are racing desperately to carve out and act out and video record any impulse that might help them to stand out, to feel “special” . . .

This is the age that I sit here typing about being equal

and some such stuff.

I am well aware that in the current social media

there are specialty specialists whose mission is to police specialness and to detect, analyze, scrutinize, and criticize any attempt by anyone attempting to be special as somehow hypocritical somewhere.

They’ve got scanners.

They’ve spotted me too.

They’re deeply suspicious that I’m trying to be special

by claiming to be only equal

oh, spare me,

I not only have zero interest in trying to be clever,

I have zero cleverness period.

another irony
