Rarely have I had to apologize for being kind 

as I was also being clear and honest.

I have, however, discovered that almost all of my apologies come soon after I had been insisting that I was right. My bad. 

I’m trying to do better. No apologies for that.

Still, I want to be candid,

even on that odd occasion

when perhaps I was perfectly right,

I was still usually a dick about it.
